Murmura Chivda

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. When they start to crackle add the curry leaves and sauté for a few seconds.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. When they start to crackle add the curry leaves and sauté for a few seconds.
  • Add the peanuts and roasted chana dal and fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the turmeric powder red chili powder and salt. Mix well.
  • Add the Murmura (puffed rice) and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat.
  • Add the raisins and mix well.
  • Turn off the heat and let the Murmura Chivda cool down completely.
  • Store in an airtight container.
